Privacy notice
How SAICT Online processes personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
Responsible party: SAICT Online, Cape Town operations, South Africa. Information officer: support@saictonline.co.za. This notice is for the website, accounts, orders, emergencies, and briefs.
What we collect
Identity and contact details you give us (name, email, phone, company, suburb, city). Account data from Google or X if you sign in that way. Order, invoice, and ticket records. Technical logs (IP, browser) to keep the desk secure. We do not buy lists and we do not scrape your contacts.
Why
To take your instruction, restore a line, bill a plan, generate an invoice and a follow-up ticket, meet FICA where it applies, and defend the site against abuse. Lawful bases: contract, legal obligation, and legitimate interest in running a secure ICT desk. Direct marketing only with a clear opt-in; you can stop it any time.
Who sees it
SAICT staff on the desk. A licensed connectivity operator when a plan includes a new SIM or LTE they must RICA — they are an operator under POPIA for that work. Payment and hosting operators under written instruction. We do not sell personal information.
How long
Account and invoice records for as long as the law requires (tax and FICA retention). Emergency tickets for the life of the job plus a reasonable archive. You may ask for access, correction, deletion, or restriction — we will say if a legal hold applies.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, objection, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za. Write the information officer first. Security: TLS in transit, access control on the desk, and no open letterbox for orders — that is why checkout requires an account.
